At sunrise, you clean the lighthouse lens after a night of salt air. When the cloth crosses one prism, sunlight breaks into a rainbow stretching across the circular wall. Visitors have not arrived, and the other keeper is asleep in the room below.
You raise your phone and return it to your pocket because moving a single step alters the entire arc. Instead of chasing an image, you continue cleaning slowly and watch colors travel from stone to stone. The ordinary task does not stop. Beauty passes through it without requesting a separate stage.
Minutes later, the sun rises and the rainbow disappears while the lens becomes ready for its night work. Nobody else will know what crossed the wall, but the absence of a witness does not diminish it. Some rewards arrive inside quiet labor and vanish as the day begins, leaving only greater care in your next movement.
